Seminar Description

What is it that draws us to the golden, brilliantly patterned paintings of Gustav Klimt and to the disturbing, contorted, haunting figures of Egon Schiele? The art of each of these extraordinary men speaks of the elegance, decadence, power, and cultural and intellectual energy that characterized early-twentieth-century Vienna. We will explore the time and the place, and in particular the art of these two geniuses who took modernism in a whole new direction.

One session. Registration – $50

Judy Pomeranz is an art critic and advisor who has published hundreds of art reviews and gives tours, courses, and lectures around the country. She is also the author of two novels and many short stories.
