Class Description

This class guides participants through both European and American resources to locate family in the countries where Napoleon ruled (France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Northern Italy, and surrounding areas). We’ll discuss the influence of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Era on genealogy as well as how to use archives, including church, civil, and military records, to uncover the stories of your family.

Jacquie has researched her family’s ancestors since 1996. A volunteer at the Family History Center for fifteen years and the Arlington Heights Genealogy room for twelve years, she teaches genealogy in high schools and for genealogy groups and libraries. She is active in several genealogy societies and has authored several books. She holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

All virtual classes are recorded and made available on a password-protected basis to participants registered in the class. These recordings are available for up to two weeks after the class ends.
