Description
The year 2025 marks the 650th anniversary of the death of Giovanni Boccaccio (1313-1375), author of the Decameron and foundational author of the European narrative prose tradition. To commemorate this milestone, the American Boccaccio Association (est. 1974) and the Newberry Library, in collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura of Chicago will celebrate the Certaldese author with a series of scholarly events.
Call for Proposals
The American Boccaccio Association invites submissions of papers OR complete panels for its 6th Triennial Conference. The proposal deadline is April 30, 2025.
Possible session types:
- Panel: 3-4 participants with 15-20 minutes presentation as established by the chair, followed by Q&A
- Roundtable: 5 or more participants with informal 5-10 minutes presentations. Sessions are open to conversation and debate
Eligibility and regulations:
- Each participant cannot take part as a speaker in more than one session, however, they can take part in one round table and chair one session in addition to being a speaker.
- There is a limit of 4 presentations per panel and 8 participants per roundtable.
- Please, note that double and triple sessions (ex. Part I and Part II) will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
- The conference will take place exclusively in person.
