Class Description

The Newberry holds one of the nation’s strongest genealogy collections. This one-session course will show you accredited research methods for tracing your family’s history in America. Also learn about genealogical relationships and traditional family trees and charts, plus see a step-by-step example of finding genealogical information at home and in public sources.

Marsha Peterson-Maass is author of the Fundamentals of Genealogy® textbook series and a board member of the Chicago Genealogical Society. She has taught genealogy classes at the Newberry Library every year since 2002.
