Class Description
The Newberry has one of the nation’s strongest genealogy collections. This one-session course will show you accredited research methods for tracing your family’s history in America. Also learn about genealogical relationships and traditional family trees and charts, plus see a step-by-step example of finding genealogical information at home and in public sources.
Marsha Peterson-Maass is author of the Fundamentals of Genealogy® textbook series and a board member of the Chicago Genealogical Society. She has led genealogy classes at the Newberry Library every year since 2002.
All virtual classes are recorded and made available on a password-protected basis to participants registered in the class. These recordings are available for up to two weeks after the class ends.
