After-Hours, Sunday, and Holiday Rates
Exclusive rental of Newberry spaces are available whenever our building is closed to the public: Closed hourly rates apply 6 pm to midnight Monday, Friday, and Saturday, all day Sundays (4 hour rental minimum).
Exclusive Rental use includes limited use of our parking lot behind the library, a discount arrangement at a nearby garage for overflow cars, use of our Steinway Grand pianos, coat check (Seasonal), our perimeter decor, building security, a facilities representative, and a staff person from the Events Office who will work closely with you and be present for the duration of your event.
Also included is the use of our padded chairs and tables; six cabarets, ten high tops, 23 - 60” rounds, four 72” rounds, 24 - 6’ rectangles.

Rates During Open Hours
The Newberry may also be rented while the library is open. Our adjacent parking lot is not available during open hours, however, the discount arrangement we have with 100 W. Chestnut makes validated parking very affordable, and the garage is located just 1.5 blocks South of the Newberry.

The following shows pricing for rooms available based on our building hours. Sundays and Mondays the Newberry is closed. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the Newberry is open 8am - 8pm. Fridays and Saturdays the Newberry is open 8am - 5pm. Any overtime charges will be billed at the appropriate hourly rate depending on whether or nor our building is open, and any additional time must be built into the contract a minimum of 30 days prior to the event.
