Your gift makes a difference

Since 1887, the Newberry has been shaped and strengthened through the generosity of our donors, including our founding benefactor Walter L. Newberry and the thousands of individuals, organizations, foundations, and corporate partners who have sustained his vision of a library open to the public without charge. Contributions to the Newberry ensure our ability to build, preserve, and share the collection with visitors today and for generations to come. Gifts to the Annual Fund of $50 or more qualify for membership in the Newberry Associates or President’s Fellows. We also welcome contributions to support specific endeavors, including:

You are welcome to contact the Development Office directly for more information about giving opportunities. The Newberry is a 501(c)(3) organization, and your gift is tax deductible to the extent provided by law. Thank you for your interest and support!

In addition, the Newberry is grateful for the many volunteers who contribute their time and skills to the library to further our mission. Learn more about our volunteering opportunities, including the Newberry Book Fair.
