After-Hours, Sunday, and Holiday Rates

Rental rates for exclusive use pertain from 6 pm to midnight Monday, Friday, and Saturday, and any six-hour block of time on Sunday.

The room cost for exclusive use of our event spaces, Ruggles Hall, the Lobby, and Towner Fellow’s Lounge, includes limited use of the parking lot in the rear of the library, use of the Steinway Grand piano, building security, utility man, coat check if needed, events staff representatives, and our decor. Also included is the use of our opera chairs and tables; six cabarets, six high boys, 23 60” rounds, four 72” rounds, 24 6’ rectangles. Our Steinway Grand pianos are maintained and tuned regularly. If you wish a special tuning, our charge is $100. Any overtime charges will be billed separately at $1,000 per hour or any portion thereof.

For 2014 and 2015 the Rental Fee is $7,000 for a six hour event on any non-holiday weekend. On holiday weekends, the rental fee is $7,500.

For 2016 the Rental Fee is $7,000 for a six hour event on any Friday or Sunday; $7,500 for any Saturday.

Off Peak Pricing is available upon request.

Rates During Open Hours

The Newberry facilities may also be rented while the library is open. The following rooms are available for events and meetings Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9 am to 7:30 pm. The rates are as follows:

Ruggles Hall $800/hour two-hour minimum
Towner Fellows’ Lounge $800/hour two-hour minimum
Conference Rooms $70/hour $500 for the entire day

Special rates may apply for non-profits.
