For a $7 fee the Newberry's Local and Family History staff will search a Chicago newspaper for a death notice or obituary. A complete date of death (month, day, and year) is required for this search. We will search a single newspaper over a span of five days. If we locate a death notice and/or obituary, a copy will be provided together with full documentation. If no such item is found, we will inform you as to what newspaper was searched and for which dates. Please note that The Newberry Library does not have Chicago newspapers after 1964
