Chicago Police Department Homicide Record Index This on-line index of Chicago homicide victims was created by the Illinois Regional Archives Depository in Chicago. The Archives Depository also created theCook County Coroner's Inquest Record Index 1872-1911. Coroner's inquests are investigations of deaths under criminal or suspicious circumstances.
Index to Death Notices in Dziennik Chicagoski, 1890-1920 and 1930-1971. The Dziennik Chicagoski was a Polish-language newspaper which served Chicago's Polish community. This database was compiled by the Polish Genealogy Society of America.
Polish Marriages in Chicago through 1915. This index of marriages in Catholic Parishes in Chicago was also created by the Polish Genealogy Society of America.
Cook County Assessor's Office. Search properties in Cook County by address, neighborhood, or PIN number. Besides property value information, site also provides age of building.
Illinois Newspaper Project. This database of newspaper titles can be searched by town of publication to find out which papers where published in an area and when these papers ran. You can also search by specific title if you already know one. The database will also provide you with a list of libraries in Illinois that have copies of the newspaper. There is good coverage of Chicago newspapers.
