In 1919, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey merged to create the combined “Greatest Show on Earth.” Ten years later Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey would purchase the American Circus Corporation, an owner of five circuses including Sells Floto and Al G. Barnes, thereby absorbing the biggest circuses in the country under one Big Top. In text and images, this exhibit explores the inner details of daily life for these circuses and their performers.
