Reading Rooms closed Friday, December 12
The Library’s reading rooms will be closed all day on Friday, December 12, for our annual staff clean-up day. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Street closures for Lights Festival, Nov. 22
Many streets near the Newberry will be closed for the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival Saturday, Nov. 22. Please review the list of street closures, and plan your travel accordingly.
Thanksgiving Holiday Hours
The Newberry will be entirely closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, for Thanksgiving. On Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28 and 29, the reading rooms will remain closed, but the exhibition galleries and bookstore will be open regular hours.
Long-Term Fellowship deadline: Dec. 1
All Long-Term Fellowship applications are due at 11:59 pm CST on December 1, 2014.

Paul Gehl wins award for contributions to printing history
The American Printing History Association has honored Paul Gehl with its 2015 APHA Award. Gehl is custodian of the Newberry’s Wing Foundation on the History of Printing.
