Seminar Description

Beginners to advanced students are welcome in this workshop examining vulnerability in storytelling, performance, and craft. In addition to learning about the art, science, and psychology of vulnerability as it relates to the art of storytelling, participants will learn about the elements of good stories, how to mine our lives for resonant tales, and how to shape them for the page and stage.

Five sessions. Registration – $220

Jill Howe is the producer of Story Sessions, a live storytelling series. She teaches storytelling workshops, serves as a resident storyteller at the Field Museum, and has presented a Tedx Talk focusing on vulnerability through storytelling. She is also an educational specialist with a masters degree in teaching.

Materials List

Required:

  • A selection of shorter materials distributed by the instructor.

First Reading:

  • There is no reading assignment for the first session.
