This seminar focuses on the legacy of Darwinism and the conflicts between science and religion in contemporary American culture. It will be divided roughly into two halves. First, participants will take  an “intellectual tour” of the new Creation Museum in Kentucky, as a launching pad for discussing the latest debates between evolutionists and creationists. Second, participants will turn their attention to the implications of Darwinism for some of the other “big questions” of traditional religion; namely, ethics, immortality, and meaning.

Seminar led by Stephen Asma, Columbia College
